I prefer Patterson when he's "on" to any Nationals pitcher, past or present, but there are legitimate concerns with his velocity as of now.  Tough to know whether he'll be like '05 Patterson, merely adequate, or '07 Patterson.

I say, unless health concerns arise, make Patterson the ace for now and see what he does.  There's scarce difference between making Berg or Patterson the #1.

I've basically given up on JP. i set nothin but tha lowest of expectation whenever i think of him.

he's really close to Mare Prior and Kerry Wood status
