Maybe it's a generational "thing" but I don't understand going to the stadium for cuisine and craft beer.   All that stuff is decoration.

:worship:

I keep promising myself I'm going to check out Shake Shack sometime (those chips they serve look scrumptious)...but those queues are just a bit much.

They don't have chips but they serve fries.  :?  Avoid the cheese fries. They were nothing more than ore ida golden crinkles with poop cheese melted on top.

Their shakes are average too. But I tried the smokeshack with the cherry peppers. It was quite good.

"Chips" is British for "fries".     :uk:

You know Old Chelsea, he's incorrigible.

I was once standing in line at McDonalds in Windsor, England, 100 yards from the main entrance of the castle, and watched an older guy take a bag of fries back to the counter to complain.  "These chips is cold, they is"  he said.   I wanted to go over and shake him up and let him know that 1) those are french fries, not chips, and 2) they isn't cold, they ARE cold.

 :smh:

For me it's not a generational thing, it's a price thing.  I just can't bring myself to pay $8.00 or $8.50 for a beer.  I get a couple of $5.00 beers at the scoreboard walk before the game and that's it.

I stop at the Loft then the $5 beers.   LOL     After that  ....   ummmmm I can't remember.

I think they're Miller Lite draft at the scoreboard.   It's crowded with lots of folks from Yuppietucky.

Before games over at the Scoreboard Walk bar.  If you're hanging at the Loft it's not a bad walk over and back, though mid-season last year they stopped selling Stella at that price, from then on had Miller Lite only.

WHAT! That's a fabulous deal if they still had it. Stella is $9 during games. Will probably go up this season.  :?

Anyway, I thought the hike from the Loft to the Miller Scoreboard Walk involved a ton of stairways.

IMO 5 Guys > Shake Shack
Yes. The burgers are fine but I'd rather have a 5 Guys. Not like I go to either vary often, however.

Anyways, bringing your own food to the park is the way to go... never have to give up my seat  :mg:

Didn't the Scoreboard have real cheap Pilsner Urquell cans for a while last year?

They're on the same concourse level I believe.

That was a couple years ago.

Sometimes, but it was a home stand by home stand decision, so usually no.

It's on the same level as the Loft.

Upon further reflection, it may have been Pilsner Urquell they had for $5.  By the time I'm into the $5 beers I've already laid the base down with the Porch Dogfish Heads.   :glug:

It was Urguell, Miller, Miller Lite, and Coors Lite, IIRC.

They really need to do prairie oysters at Taste of the Majors when the Cardinals are back.  Or Mississippi hagfish on a bun.

That makes sense.  My first encounter with that seminal delicacy was in Jackson, WY, where they were known as "rocky mountain oysters"...

The fish tacos at Petco Park in San Diego and the Chicago dogs at Wrigley are hard to beat.

I like to drink a beer at the game, and prefer to drink a beer that I like.  But I DO hate having to hunt for it.  Last year I checked the menu for the delivery to your seat and saw good beer on the list, so no more hunting.
