Wow that was dumb. Scoring chances in this game have been scarce and we finally get an opportunity to get the lead and hand the ball off to Clip and Storen and he lets the pitcher bat.. I'm stunned

Marquis Batting 2011: 8/32 .250 AVE, 1 2B, 3 RBI

He hits better than most of the players on the bench.  And he can still pitch.

Marquis may be a better hitting option than a lot of the bench, but that spot was made for Nix.

If so, why wouldn't you have PH for Marquis?

1 out isn't worth letting him hit
agreed, even if it works out post hoc.

Yup, Cora may even have been a decent option.

Marquis isn't a bad hitter for a pitcher but he wasn't going to hit a guy like Pineda.

Well, at least Marquis rewarded Rigs with a 1-2-3 inning.

108 pitches for Marquis.

I'd let him go out there for the 9th. Not going to happen, though.

Marquis's probably done now... given the situation, PHing with Nix isn't a bad idea, but I'm not as mad at Riggs as many of you are.

Oh, fooey!  Pauley again.  One of my fantasy pitchers!  Never should have traded Casey Janssen for him.

Is Nix even available after leaving Tuesday's game with an injury?
