lol looks like Salazar has no arm in that shot, and is servicing the trainer.

I think he injured it just before he hit the fence. Sucks. Looks like he's okay, though.

unbelievable. a ball smoked down the 1B line, a walk to the pitcher, and then a shot into the left centerfield gap.

and there are 2 outs and just a runner on first base with NO RUNS!

:hang:

this pitcher hasn't even recorded an out this inning. this is so sick. should have like 2-3 runs right now and still no outs. :hang:

3-2 curve ball

and notld says RZ isn't respected around the game. that's just not true. pitchers never threw him this many 3-2 breaking balls like they have this year.

This is the kind of one-run loss that's soul crushing.  I don't subscribe to the "theory" that it's better to lose by 10 than to lose by 1 but this is the absolute worst kind of one-run loss.

I agree. but why wouldn't you rather lose by 10 runs?

one run losses like these are the worst. any other team in baseball would have won this game with ease tonight. should have scored at least 1 run in the inning where Rig botched it and then in the 7th inning we just got snake-bitten and should have scored 2-3.

so embarrassing.

I call what I see. pitchers throw RZ 3-2 breaking balls so either he makes an out or they face Dunn.

they don't want to get beat on the fastball. that is why he sees so many 3-2 breaking balls/off speed pitches.

it's respect.

All one-run losses aren't equal.  We've been down by one run for most of the game (5 innings now) and "things" have happened, unusual things, belief-defying things to keep us from scoring more.

This loss is much worse than the Pujols walkoff which was also a one-run loss.
