Kind of like a Windows update...

New colors. The greys are now blue. The squares are rounded, etc.

But, it seemed that it responded faster. Was that just me?

quicker, and uglier.  If you have one of the new FiOS 74xx DVR boxes you can now connect an eSATA hard drive to it.  There are a few other tweaks - such as the ability to start an on-demand movie on one TV and pick up watching it on another.

here's the summary:
Quote
New look and feel with higher resolution graphics and smooth animations
Re-design of search and better integration throughout the guide
Expansion of guide data to include complete cast information and air date
New Channel Guide view providing another option for navigating live TV content
    Recommendations for live TV content
Ability to select the Widgets that are displayed in the carousel
More parental control tools and a configuration wizard
    Overhaul of Message Center
    Improved 3DTV support
Support for Descriptive Video Service, native pass through, 1080p, and MP3 and MPEG-4 decoding on select devices.
A long list of DVR and multi-room DVR enhancements
Even more ways to customize the guide to your personal preferences

I though the guide was supposed to be 16x9 but it is still showing up as 480 on my set (I have a 6xxx DVR).

10:00 PM tonight on MTV.

I read the review of the first episode, which I shouldn't have done.  The story line is outstanding.

Scientific studies show that soda out of the nose is the first stage of vomit.

My brother once squirted milk out of a nostril all over a waiter.  Last time that dude told that joke.

It's much much faster, the DVR upgrades are very welcome, but it is unreadable on a smaller screen.

it's also harder to see who's playing who on the guide for football games

So far Concast looks terrible. The guide looks like crap.

I've seen a few episodes of both the one with MacGyver Richard Dean Anderson and the Atlantis one.  I liked both from what I watched, but I never watched them that much.

I have watched all of them; although many as background noise or workout television rather than sitting with rapt attention. Entertaining although I would opt for other shows first.

the simpsons halloween special was downright awful.  In one of the segments Homer gets paralyzed after being bitten by a spider and can only communicate with his family by passing gas at will.

Maybe it's my very low expectations for these episodes, but I thought the Flanders segment was ok

If everybody thinks the show is stale and way past done - which seems to be the case -  then why has it remained on air for so long?

It's still better than 90% of what's on. I've never been a big tree house fan, but the show as a whole goes through highs and lows as writers cycle in and out- to me the only similar show is snl

I finished season 2 yesterday. It's amazing to see  how the main characters evolve.

another good "Office" last night, Andy is growing on me and I thought the line about Iron Chef was brilliant.

Robert California to Andy: "you can't have a favorite Iron Chef, it depends entirely on the secret ingredient.”

The "closing time" open was really good as well.

Agreed. I've really enjoyed the office this year.
