I wouldn't doubt one bit that Ortiz had a heads up on a urine test for late May and once he got it behind him he cycled back on the juice.

the change was the only freaking pitch he was going to hit right there. would have fouled a fastball off or hit a fly ball to LF.

that one pitch just cost us the game.

Stammen is still pitching a good game. We shouldn't judge him just because of one pitch.

Yup. Idiotic. Hung a soft BP pitch to an aging juicer looking to swing for the fences.

That one pitch was huge though.

3-run homer says hi.

yeah he's pitching well, but you can't make mistakes like that.  deadly.

You don't have St Claire to blame for that. If Bard was behind the plate you could blame him but he isn't.

Yea but considering one win doesn't make that big a difference for us right now, I'd rather just look at the long term and consider this kid has had a pretty good game so far.

I may have jinxed this.  I had David Ortiz on my fantasy team last year, and he's available on waivers now.  Last night, I asked a Red Sox fan in an Ortiz shirt how he fell off the map on home run hitting in 2009.

Ortiz 3-run homer.

Natinals  1
Red Sux  3

Stammen lacks stamina?

Lester will cruise from here. the offense is done for the night.

It's the culture of losing and fear that we have witnessed all year.

um we need to take every win we can get.  i don't want to go down worse than the '62 mets.

If you take that approach you'll find yourself with 140 losses at the end of the season.  :?

I'd like to know who made the call. I mean has even thrown a freaking change-up all night until then?

we probably weren't going to win anyways because we weren't going to shut them out but giving up 3 runs there with 2 outs to a bad hitter hurts.

Amazingly, Manny actually fielded the correct OF. But he canceled it out by pulling Nick out of the #2 and putting lefties against Lester in both the leadoff and clean up positions. The D should be good tonight. But they have to have better approaches at the plate.

Olsen looks crappy. only allowed 2 runs so far but he is so utterly hittable. A ML team would have 10 hits and 5+ runs off him by now.

his line so far: 4 IP 7 H 2 R 2 ER 1 BB 2 K (52 pitches, 40 strikes).
