A Nats board is no place for me to promote the Marlins, so instead I poke fun where I can.

You're probably right in doing that, considering how some here might react to that. But me, I like hearing from different teams' fans. The negatives AND the positives. I hear enough about the Nats. :D

I've got my favs - Jacobs for one.  When I got back home, I saw where you said he can't hit lefties.  That used to be the case.  Last year, since the Marlins wouldn't spring for one, he hired his own lefty BP coach.  As a result, he hits lefties very well now - last year he finished up hitting lefties even harder than righties.

They also have a great pitching coach in Mark Wilely.

But, Presley is still hitting coach, and that's why Marlins make no adjustments and K so often.  Then there is Fredi (aka Tweedle Dee the Wonder Dummy).

Thats a player you can admire.

It's so cool that Ayala is actually back and pitching here again. A lot of people doubted his coming back 100%.

Hang that slider, Luis. Might as well put the game out of reach. That'd be a lot less painful than losing by 1.

Looking at the Marlins lineup, I'm not sure I would take one Nat position player over the Marlins positions.  Maybe third base.

Jacobs does look a lot more confident up there than I remember.

Agreed. I have no idea how we were supposed to be better than them this year? They have better hitters and pitchers.

looks like the Nats have no ability to properly attack an inning. They once again allow the leadoff runner on

Are you freaking kidding me... This is so Nats-like. Give up a run or two here so when our offense finally does score a run we lose by 1.

Jacobs work hard.  He was a catcher, but has been forced by injury to become a 1b.  The Marlins had a great infield coach in Perry Hill (gold gloves for Derek Lee, Luis Castillo, and Mike Lowell - and Alex Gonzalez wasn't a bad SS).  But Hill's wife is seriously ill, and he left the team during ST of 2007.  This offseason, Jacobs went out and worked with some other IF coach on his 1b footwork since the new IF coach, Fox, is a nice guy but lousy coach (you may have noticed that the Marlins defense sucks).  He works out almost every day during the offseason, and then shows up in camp about 6 weeks early.

hahaha. Ayala is getting crushed. Our pitchers freaking blow.  Not one is worth a damn.  It seems like a reliever gives up runs every night in the 8th inning.

They're an aggressive team. That's what I was hoping we'd be this season. Not yet. :?

see tha problem with you is you let this cats ruin your day. you can take tha nats too seriously or get your hopes up high. doin. that can take 10 years off your life.

i advise that you take a shot of vodka before every nats game, that way you're loose and tipsy and not so edgy.

I'd kill to have an offense half as good as the Marlins'. Maybe it's just our garbage crap pitching that is making them look good though.

Per Marlins version of Debbie Taylor:  Luis Gonzalez and Manny Acta were roommates when playing MiLB.
