Sign Lidge. At least he doesn't plunk the first batter and fail to cover on the passed ball. ;)

I cannot recall when the Nats DFA'ed someone as quickly as Lidge after a horrid performance. If he was on the bubble I dont think DJ would have put him in on Saturday. Even Cabrerra had more chances. Maybe Corey Patterson? Please add to the list. This could be fun on a non-game night.

He was running out of arms Saturday night.  It was inevitable Lidge was getting in.  At that time only Gonzalez remained in the 'pen I believe.

I thought it was Gorzelanny but I am doing this from memory. Those "snake heads " look horrible. I see a major problem with the largemouth population and spawning Rockfish and the other native species.

Gorz had pitched 2 innings the night before and thus was probably going to be a very last resort.

Gorzelanny was the only 'pen arm not used that night. Gonzales got the last out after Lidge allowed 2 ER

Is he going to be released unconditionally or is he going to accept a minor league assignment?

Yep. I also have to wonder why they weren't more patient with him. He's had some good outings this year. I wouldn't have pulled the plug so soon. Maybe a few more days.

Completely bipolar team this year. Call up Harper and Moore, but make sure Nady continues to get ABs. HRod sucking? Stick with it. Lidge comes back early from rehab and struggles, get's shown the door.

I think the team hopes (a forlorn hope) that HRod will learn to pitch. They must be looking at his arm, saying, "if only..."

Lidge seems to have run out of whatever he had. At some time, it happens to all of them.
