Ah, here it comes.  We knew that lousy Cubs hitting could only delay the deluge of ER's from Livan for so long.

might need those fist sized keys of Dave B's here pretty soon...

Eh, maybe.  I think I'm on cruise control ever since that game we blew in Cincy.  I just don't care anymore.  Most of these guys are going bye-bye sooner rather than later, and this year's team will be completely forgotten and eclipsed by teams the new owners field in the next few years.

I don't say that just to be flippant, but seriously think about it.  Last year's team, for better or worse, will be remembered because it was the inaugural team, and because it went on an insane hot streak for a couple of months early in the season.  This year's team on the other hand is the post-honeymoon team that is playing .333 ball, is riddled with injuries and made up mostly of cheap leftovers that were snapped up from wherever.  At the rate we're going, no one will remember the '06 Nats.  There's just nothing remarkable about them, one way or another.

Well you know Livan needs at least 5 ER per start, so a grand slam right here would wrap up his outing nicely.

Yup, and that was a shoestring catch by Soriano, followed by a smart throw to second.  If he can do that, you can't tell me he can't learn not to over-run the ball. ;)

Wilkerson watch:  50 K in 127 AB, 12 RBIs and 5 HR, .268 BA with .350 OBP

The Soriano trade continues to look excellent, especially in lieu of the fact that he'll probably be traded for some good picks/prospects.
