A day of meltdowns all round...the Nats match well documented here, and the Mystics completely lost the plot in the second half and lost 76-67.

Hopefully both teams can re-group Tuesday - the Nats back home with Strasburg expected to start, and the Mystics back home as well to take on this same Connecticut Sun (but can they get over that shambolic second half? they must have set a league record for offensive fouls).

We need more ramos.

I don't care about being respectful or professional (in terms of nieves being here for a while) ... nieves is just garbage cut him now.

Jason Marquis actually had the equivalent of a quality start, 4 inning, 2 earned runs which equals a 4.50 ERA.

20-40 on the road and haven't won a road series since May.

Inexcusable.

Yeah but he's not a better man than hammond

He and Lannan are the same pitcher when everything goes right, not sure about the hate. Marquis has had a much longer and more successful career. Both have done a lot of damage to the Nats' record.

I wish I could be certain that Ramos is better than Nieves...but then I doubt he could be worse.

Hammonds is as bad as sportsfan. Maxwell is not a major league ball player - I didn't say he kicks puppies, he just isn't going to make it.

What worse about these road trips is that they end so badly.  It would be novel if the team played badly at the beginning of the road trip then played well at the end.

At the end of the road trip, and therefore, at the beginning of a home stand, this team is always at rock bottom.

Best part of the game was when Maxwell's homer sailed over that fat guy, who reached up for it exposing his ample blubber and causing him to reach suddenly down to intercept his pants from falling down around his ankles.  Might make a good avatar if I can get it later.

Please no more bum pitchers next year. Guys like Batista wouldn't have a job on any other Major League team.

I can't wait until the day (if ever) when we don't have to see the likes of Stammen, Martin, Lannan, Atilano and several of the ones that come out of the bullpen.

He and Nieves killed us in the first inning with retarded pitching and inept fielding of their respective positions.  They looked like Larry and Curly out there.
