He could throw that pitch to Dunn all day and I doubt he'd ever hit it.

Vin Scully is the best announcer ever!

He is starting to have some senior moments.  He really got confused about the whole Podsednik / Theriot / Nieves throw sequence in the first.  Still, he's lyrical and great to listen to.

Willingham slugged .364 in July and now .269 in August. Real impressive. I wouldn't offer him crap in arbitration. Try to trade him.

The long ball is the only way these bunch of losing free swingers can score runs. :spaz:

1st pitch swinging will keep Marquis in through the 7th inning. Nice!

Carroll completely owning the Nats. pathetic

And then he hangs one to .180 hitter.

Marquis is a Minor League pitcher.

1st pitch hitting will get Marquis out of the game.

Continuing my fine tradition of sports multi-tasking, while I'm listening to the Nats match on AM-1500 I'm also following the Mystics match (away to Connecticut Sun) on WNBA match-tracker...Mystics up 18-10 at the end of the first quarter.

Say what you will about women's hoops, but the Mystics are currently in position to do something the Nats and DC United won't be doing this year - qualify for post-season.

But doesn't that mean you'll have to watch more games?

No problem with that - I support all six of my teams (although DC United is getting a bit wonky since they may be blowing town soon) and want them all to win titles.

(And I'm not actually 'watching' this - I'm just following on an online match tracker. There's no live video or audio unless you get WNBA League Pass.)

Nats finally get a run without needing a home run - first time since this past Wednesday.

United leaving DC?

Possibly for Baltimore per Kevin Payne, if they can't build a new ground in this area - there was a Steven Goff 'Soccer Insider' item in the Post a couple of weeks ago about this. The Maryland Stadium Authority is doing a feasibility study (17K or thereabouts soccer-specific stadium in the Camden Yards area, with the Ravens' stadium serving as temporary home till the new ground is built) - this will be released sometime in September.

What ever happened to the Anacostia waterfront?    Then I heard Germantown and possibly N. VA.   Don't recall the Baltimore move.   I used to be a ST holder when the Dips were in town with Johann Cruyff.
