I've got a cigar with my name on it if we bust this slump and win tonight. 8)

I pulled up a boxscore of a specific game from 2005 that happenned after a losing streak and started what is still the best run in Nationals history. Note who the oppossing pitcher was.

Wow, 3 doubles by Brad Wilkerson.

Without being snarky, what was the downfall of Wilkerson?

Injuries, lack of talent, PED's?

I remember hearing a lot about him when he was with the Expos... and after that, he just sort of collapsed?

I think it was the same thing that was the downfall of guys like Aaron Rowand and Austin Kearns and maybe even Alex Gordon. They were asked to be something they're not. The Texas rangers expected a lot out of Wilkerson and he wasn't able to deliever. Remember how he was going to bulk up to play a corner outfield position and should become a power guy?

I think he never adjusted to coming down from PED's.

Ladson's line-up (per twitter): morgan-8, guzman-4, Zimmerman-5, Willingham-73- kennedy 6- desmond 9- bernadina 2- nieves 1- lannan

Since there is no 73 position and Desmond is not playing RF here's the correct line-up:

CF Morgan
2B Guzman
3B Zimmerman
LF Willingham
1B Kennedy
SS Desmond
RF Bernadina
C Nieves

Damn Dunn is out again, that sucks. At least Guzman has been more of his solar hot self lately since he's in the 2 hole. I'm goin out on a limb here, my prediction: Nats win 4-2 and Lannan gets the Silver Fox aka Silver Wig. :koolaid:

That's probably our best lineup without Dunn. Of course, that's like saying "Nice car...where are the wheels?"

I think it's more like driving with four spare tires.

Lannan vs. Carpenter.   Please, please, please tell me it is raining in St. Louis because that is the only we are coming home above .500.

As long as we're getting nothing from 2,3 and 4, there is NO good lineup!

Also, after last night's game, Riggleman talked about Dunn not playing today and how sick he was.  I'm thinking, if' he's so sick, why did you pinch hit with him?  Also, if he's so sick, he shouldn't be with the team!  He should be back in Washington.  He shouldn't be near the rest of the players, especially in a confined space (ie a plane), going back home.

Imagine putting together a lineup when four or five players are out sick!

He was a juicer.

BTW, Strasburg's start tonight was rained out.

Who knows maybe Dunn got sent home today?

And no this isn't our best sans Dunn line-up ... Nieves is in it :hang:

Rodriguez hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire, lately.

Also, I went out to dinner and thought I'd miss the first hour of the game.

Got home and realized the game was at 8, so I just sat down and am ready to watch. This is a great day.

Jeff Francis was an ace a couple years ago.

I hate when our announcers talk crap about other players on other teams.

Look in the mirror.

I'm sure Dunn is out for the year.
