YouTube issues
« Topic Start: May 15, 2015, 01:20:42 PM »
Topic resolved with implementation of new system.  For details see - http://www.wnff.net/index.php?topic=34865.0

Lately whenever I post a YouTube URL, it converts it to "unsupported"

Anyone else seeing this?

Example - original URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC3IxxYsIN8&feature=youtu.be

When I post it, it looks like this:

Looks like the embedding plugin on the board is borked.

From my PC with Chrome I see the video imref linked embedded as usual.

What device/operating system and browser are you using, imref?

One thing I do know is that the plugin does not support "shortened" youtube links.  For example "youtu.be/whatever".  This is simply a function of the age of the plugin.  Unfortunately it is no longer maintained by the original author and hasn't been for some time, so there's not much to be done about it except look for a newer alternative.  Probably a project for the off-season.

Interesting.  I'll do some digging when I have a chance and see if I can find a solution.  In the meantime posting the video URL in [tt] [/tt] tags as you did in your example seems to work around the issue, provided you use a full youtube.com URL and replace the "https" with "http".
