I think it is really hard to choose between a pitcher and a position player for these types of awards. Miley had great stats as a rookie, but Harper played almost everyday since his callup in May. Harper was playing damn near elite center field and hit .270 with 22 bombs. Position player > pitcher unless the pitcher had an elite year.
