Hmmm interesting.  I wonder if the 7th inning will come before the D.C. cutoff for alcohol.

I always thought the RFK alcohol cut-off was the end of the 7th inning or 22.00, whichever comes first (at earlier rain-delayed matches this season they've always shut off the beer at 22.00 - and we're eight minutes past that right now).

Washington Post Radio: Charlie Slowes announces "They are going to try and get the game in around 11:30 to Midnight."

Wow...I'm pretty good!

If they play regardless of time, do you think the umpire's will call it after 4.5 innings because of a curfew?  I vaguely remember a game where it nearly had to stop because of a 2 am curfew or something.

I can hear the Phillies Phans Screaming now!

I paid the price this morning at work after watching the latter parts of the 14-inning game last night (until I had a quad shot mocha from Starbucks).  I don't think I can even START watching this one if it goes on.

They got rid of curfews in the majors.  There aren't any anymore.

Somebody on the MLB board says they are now looking at an 11:05 start.

Looking at the radar...I can see that happening too.  However...you have to allow time for the pitchers to warm-up...players to stretch...blah blah.

they better start soon because Tony Gwynn said that there is some sort of deadline that a game has to start by (maybe midnight?).

Tony Gwynn's living in the past...he doesn't realize they got rid of curfews in MLB.  Besides, didn't you say "IT WAS A LOCK" that they are not going to play tonight?

It's still raining throughout the area and will for a few more hours.  It is a LOCK that they will not play baseball at RFK tonight.

I was angry at the time but now that I know that Frank is gone for good after 4 more games I feel alot better.  Besides what else am I supposed to do tonight (no classes tomorrow)?  BTW, this South Carolina and Auburn game is pretty tight.

When was the last time they started a game on the east coast after 11 o clock? I don't think I've ever seen it although I'm fairly young.

That's why I told you not to be so sure...because this is a playoff contention game.  They will try extra hard to get this one in...they aren't about to ask the Phillies to come all the way to Washington just for one game on Monday unless they absolutely have to.

Philly is not that far from Washington. It's RIDICULOUS to START a game after 11 PM, especially when Philly has to travel to MIAMI for a game tommorow.  They should postpone it now and cancel it later, if it's meaningless to the playoff race.
Will someone kindly please ask the umpire to

It's not so much the distance as the cost...travel accomodations, umpires, stadium crew, concessions...etc. etc.
