No to Hamilton. Even sober, he's a headcase. I don't dislike him, but I don't want him.

By the way, as the official keeper of the factions due to my LEGO thing, I hereby declare the LoD to be reinstated.

The only way to officially do that is for you to come up with a new adventure for the LoD. Otherwise you're no longer the official keeper of factions.

Can a mod rename this the 2012/2013 offseason thread, because as of now it is the offseason.

We'll have a separate thread for that.

I have one planned out, but I'd have to get all of my Legos out again, and they're a big freaking pain to deal with.

We really should get a closer option like Madson or Broxton just in case Drew has lost it. This is exactly the sort of thing that can ruin a reliever's career, and we should prepare for that possibility.

Don't resign Edwin. Trade Morse. Play Moore. Go after some super studs in Zach Grenkie

Sign another late inning reliever, let jackson go, trade morse, resign laRoche, open competition in ST @ 2nd base but Rendon is our 2nd basemen of the future & sign Shawn Marcum/ Kyle Lohse

Storen won't be the problem.

I say we get a package together that includes Morse and we go get Jon Lester.   :whip:

Haren's a better buy than Greinke at this point. Get Haren.
Hamilton's going to age terribly. In a couple years he'll be putrid. No discipline, no eye. Avoid like the plague.
Sign Haren and a left fielder. Trade Morse for a reliever, extend LaRoche at 1B.

This. Get Haren. We don't need Hamilton. Let someone else overpay for him.

Rendon would be the answer at second, but we might have a problem on the left side of the infield, way too many ground balls passed in between Zimmm and Desi. If we can add an outfielder with range and a bat we might have the best OF in the league. Obviously we need a starter, although I wouldn't be too upset if we went back to Lannan as our #5 for one more year. HRod coming back might be the equivalent of a free agent signing, like LaRoche and Werth this year, that plus Garcia gives me confidence in the pen as is.

I think Rizzo will bring in a guy like Madson to do the same thing he tried to do with Lidge. While I think it'd be interesting to bring Bourn in we have Goodwin coming up in the minors and Eury/Harper can serve as a stop gap until Goodwin is ready. Rizzo like power pitchers he's not gonna want a soft tossing lefty in his rotation he should that this year when he picked up Jackson and how long he hung onto Wang.

Closer? Does Storen come back from something like this? I'm a Ravens fan, and Billy Cundiff and Lee Evans were gone to start this season after their performances in the AFC Championship last year. It's hard to keep guys around like that when they are so associated with a bad loss.

Does Storen come back?  Hell yeah, he's going to be our closer for a long time.  Three nights in a row and they got to him, shouldn't have had him out there in game three, probably should have had JZ finish the game on Thursday too.

Seriously. This group has their opportunity to prove themselves under the bright lights.

And they failed miserably.

Honestly, team's rarely win in the post season their first time there.  There are exceptions, but not many.  I fully expect this to resolve this team for next year for those that are back.  The core of this team is still really talented and should be very good assuming we don't see a rash of injuries in the rotation.

I'll he surprised if he doesn't dominate next year.

Not sure this team is going to remedy that one.  These two are long term left side partners, given the long term contract to Zimmerman and Desi's team leadership role.

Can we please give up on Rendon already? The dude is made of Kleenex. He'll never stay healthy.
