I would've loved a double header sweep. We still have a chance but I'd like to think our odds of winning this game is less than the Mariners game with Desmond Ankiel Bernie. :stir:

I can't believe, after that first inning, Livan actually had a good game.

Not that it mattered, but zimm should have stayed on 2nd to tag on that shot by espinosa. Bad base running and blown chances today.

I think left handed relief is the most gaping hole this team has, even more than leadoff hitter.  Unless you're just not going to go for lefty-lefty matchups.  That might be our better option, finding a righty or two who get out lefties.

What happened to that espinosa shot, sounded like it almost carried out.

This is an embarrassingly bad performance by the bullpen!

Burnett has been unbelievably bad this year. And its like Davey Johnson hasn't been watching.

Clip should have pitched this inning

Johnson's made it clear that he expects, and needs, all 25 players to contribute.  He's not going to sit guys for up to a week at at time.  If they can't do their jobs they should be replaced.

And of course with today being a double header and the start of a string of 11 games in 10 days, everyone in the bullpen is going to be needed.  Everyone.

Be happy, we got rid of him like almost everyone here wanted.

Right now, I'd say "go for the good pitcher and forget L-L match-ups".

But he has to have a sense of when to use pitchers.  What if we're losing the next game by 6 runs, it doesn't matter which reliever you go to.  This was a winnable game...until Sean Burnett took the mound.

Burnett is done. He's completely done. DFA time. Bring up Romero and DFA him if he sucks.
