I've thought this for a while, and now's a good a time as any...

Lannan is overhyped just as Zimmerman was.  He's a solid, middle-of-the-rotation kind of guy.  But he's no ace.

Wow, so Flop now has TWO dingers today? Ok, this is just a debacle of an opening day all the way around.

Offer your parents the $80 and see if you can squeeze the HD version out of them. I'm a parent. I'd by that if my kid asked. But don't tell them there's an $80 version right away. :)

Nice... I just checked, there's also an 80 dollar version. Maybe I'll try for that. I've got 80 bucks lying around somewhere... :D

On a depressing note, John Lannan :(

My little girl can pitch better than Lannan today and she isn't even two weeks old yet.

nobody is calling him an ace ... he's there by default because we have nobody else.  we decided to go with a plan of throwing the kids out to the fire.  he's there because of his year last season and his solid spring.

Yeah, that version completely sucks though.  It's like watching a bad, bad quality YouTube video.  For 20 bucks more, you get a TV quality picture (HDTV quality if the station is broadcasting in HD).

Hopefully this is the reverse of last season... and we turn it around. But I'm feeling quite pessimistic right now. My Yankee fan friend will make fun of me for the next couple of weeks for this...

Agreed.  Hopefully, if this team's rotation gets as good as we hope, he'll be a 5th starter.

The million dollar question is...are his parents Nats fans? :D

You couldn't script a replay of last year's team anymore than this so far.

I don't think anyone really believes that he's an ace. He's just the best thing that we have right now. We've never had an "ace" since this team has been in Washington.

It's 110 according to mlb.com.

I've got a 60 buck gift certificate lying right next to me, I can trade that in... I've got about 180 bucks in cash in my room. So that works out.

Only thing is I have to convince them that it's worth the $.

Nope, Red Sox fans... and annoyed at me not following in suit.

I have a Nats cap (had actually, I lost it 2 weeks ago and it was my fav) and a Nationals generic shirt. I think I may be able to pull this off.

Another early comparison to last year...Guzman being somewhat of a standout on an otherwise underperforming team :D

This really is nightmare scenario for the organization.

A player we gave up in the offseason  (Bonafacacio) has clowned us so far.  One of the players we got for him is in a corner outfield log jam.

Manny's love child that he has leading off swung at the first pitched and nubbed it to the 2b.

Manny's other love child that won the RF job has struck out.

Dunn is already showing he can't field and has already struck out.

Our ace can't throw strikes, and when he does they hit the snot out of it.

We already have an error on a routine ground ball.

Oh my, it is going to be a long year.
