Hmmm, Arsenal look just like they did back in May.

That said, Giroud just scored  :D

It's good to have the EPL back.

I was thinking that after their game ended  ...  the Liverpool atop the table part at least.   :)

But wouldn't it be even better if the ear-biter moved to London?

He should score 20+ this season. Really good player.

So...what is NBCSN?  I assume that it is hiding somewhere back in those scary cable channels with like "Tattoo Nightmares Dubuque".  DirectTV has some neighbourhoods that just ain't safe for a simple white boy.
same channel with Phil, Paul, and Bobke.

Arsenal in big trouble playing 10 v 11 now.

Pretty iffy PK if you ask me.

Which is pretty surprising in the EPL (I refuse to acknowledge the BPL).

Mertesacker is about as effective as an orange traffic cone today.

Hey Chelsea I'm getting ready to watch your boys take on Hull City.  What's the outcome going to be?  2-0?

Sitting here this morning thinking about this Crystal Palace outfit.    I'm a casual (I guess) EPL fan and had never heard of them.   It's been 8 years since they've been up.   Interesting.    Then, I got side tracked following up on the Bale thing.    After, 15 innings last night, it'll be an extra long walk (exercise) today.

I'm the same, quite a passive EPL fan but the whole idea of relegation is awesome.  Want to play with the big boys?  Just win baby.  You want to stay with the big boys?  Don't lose.  Quite simple.

CP has shown a lot more in the second half than they did the first.

Wow I didn't know the referee knows within a single second if a ball is in and has someone tell him via his earpiece if a ball goes in??  What if the communication piece fails as we've seen in the NFL?  I haven't heard much about the EPL review system so I'm learning on the fly.

Pretty neat to see the device in action this early in the season.    I think this is the first year for it in the EPL.

Crystal Palace have been a 'yo-yo' side in recent years, shuttling between the Championship and the lower reaches of the Premier League (just got promoted back up this year). They nearly folded back in the 1990's with the extravagances of the bad-news owner they had back then.

Their home ground is Selhurst Park in south London; they visit Chelsea on 14th December and I might be catching them that day.

I'm a "maps" guy and I enjoy going out to google, etc. checking the locations of all the fields.    I checked on Crystal Palace yesterday.   Couldn't imagine where they'd be located.   Was surprised when I found it in London.   Only thing that crossed my mind was the old exhibition in Hyde Park.   :)

Hey Chelsea I was thinking about the quality of fields of some of the lower tier teams that fight their way into the premier leagues.  Has anyone ever made it up into the first flight leagues with a subpar pitch or tiny stadium?

Watched some of the FA games last year and some of those fields are in pretty bad shape.    Good question Tiger  ...

In 2001, Fulham were promoted to the Premier League, where they have remained continuously since; at the time of their promotion, their Craven Cottage home ground still had terraces, which violated Premier League rules (all-seaters are, and I think always have been, mandatory at that level since the EPL was formed in 1992), so for a season or two, while Craven Cottage was being re-built to Premiership specs,  they had to play their home matches at Loftus Road.

I am not aware of any Premier League ground being deemed subpar upon a club's promotion, although quality can vary among the top-flight grounds - for example, Chelsea's pitch quality is OK if not spectacular (not as wonky as FedEx Field turf, but Nationals Park it definitely isn't). In the lower leagues though, before straight promotion/relegation was established between the Football League's lowest tier  (currently called League Two) and the Conference (nowadays it's two up, two down), there were cases of Conference teams being rejected for promotion because of various ground issues - Stevenage, for instance, should have gone up in 1995 but the League turned them down on ground issues (they finally made it up in 2011). I sometimes think those 'ground issues' had more to do with the existing clubs not wanting to invite some interloper into their tree-house.

this " every game on  tv"  stuff pls dvr  is great.  now I  can be a fan  of  Everton or Sunderland because I  can actually watch them.  both looked  pretty  good  this week.  each  should have had a win. I hope  Everton  keeps fellaini.

beIN  sport  also does a good broadcast  for the French league.  Not like GolTV,  which always seemed like a camera phone bootleg.
