Losing Meyer and Hood this offseason would be an awful offseason for the farm

I highly doubt hood would be able to stick with a team at this point.  He is still just too raw.

Flores was a bit older, but hadn't played at as high a level as Hood has. I could see a team using him as a 5th OF.

a look at the state of our farm system, with input from Jim Callis.

It's pretty ugly now after Rendon,  but we're better off having a stacked major league roster and a thin minor league system then the other way around.

Taking the optimists view, Callis suggests the talent seems to be there if the injuries can be overcome. Giolito, Purke, Solis, Rendon all seem to have that issue.  The system will rank very low in BA this year, I think, but you could see a rebound with health.  Of course, you could see a huge fall off too if Goodwin looks overmatched in AA, Skole loses effectiveness against better pitchers, and the injuries do not work out.  But I'm a 'Shiner.
