Not a cap but I'm watching the first hour of the Orioles-Rangers game and they did report from the crowd and sitting next to Amber Theoharris (the Orioles version of Debbi Taylor) was someone wearing a Nationals jacket.

Last night, a guy w/ a Nats cap at the Yankees and Angels game (in Anaheim) caught a ball that was maybe in fair territory. Torre got real pissed. The dude got kicked out. Pretty funny stuff, though.

Last night on PBS there was a show on a softball league for the neighborhood of Glover Park in DC.  It talked about the history of the neighborhood and the Softball League.  Anyhow, one of the older players on one of the teams was wearing a curly W hat.  I wonder if he's one of our members?  Hmm  :icon_question:

Saw a nats tshirt at work the other day (I work at a hotel), didn't get a chance to talk to him to see how closely he followed the team, but I thought it was cool.  Probably going to the Royals/Indians game on Saturday, maybe I'll see something there too, not going to hold my breath, but you never know, right?

At Monday night's Yankees-Angels game in Anaheim, a fan interfiered with a ball in play in foul territory in the left field corner.  He was wearing a red Curly W hat.  When he hadn't been escorted out by Security as the inning progressed, the ESPN announcers kept saying that the miscreant was the young man wearing the Nationals hat.

I thought you just couldn't interfere with fair balls.  Was it a fair ball that rolled into the corner?

the ball was "in play" meaning it was a fair ball, but as you said, had rolled into the foul portion of the field when it got to the left field corner.

Once touched by a fan (or policeman, or field crew member, or whomever), the ball becomes a dead ball.

Two recent sightings of nats caps at the Big-12 Men's Basketball Tournament in Kansas City.  One red "DC" alternate hat seen in the Sprint Center on March 15.  One blue curly W seen at the Ragland Road Irish Pub across the street from the Sprint Center on March 16.

I keep running into people wearing the Nats cap that say they just like the hat. I guess it's a cool "W" or something.

Most weekdays, I see construction workers getting off at the L'Enfant Plaza metro station wearing the red W hats.

That would be like counting every sparrow when you're bird watching.

Well, I rather that be the reaction to the Curly W then to the Red B or the NY!

Not a hat sighting but in the movie "The Kingdom" with Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner in the final scene they're in an office and in the background there is a Washington Nationals coffee cup. We've arrived.

I was in London, UK in April on a work trip.   I was wearing my Nats curly W hat, three of us went to a tiny pub right next to Big Ben for lunch, and as we were walking out I look over at a guy by the door & he's wearing a curly W hat.   Turns out he was there on vacation with his family.

This is right outside Parliament on Whitehall:

This is at Stonehenge.

And this is at the Bovington Tank Museum about an hour south of London.  German King Tiger tank from WW II.

Where I live, a lot of people wear Nationals caps... its because the W stands for West Roxbury for them, so all the people who live there wear em.

Was in Chicago in the begining of May and saw a family out there from D.C. with a Nationals hat. Turn's out I believe (can't remember) they were season ticket holders.

That's an awesome picture of the tank Skipper, I love WW2 history.

I only passed History of Western Civ II because the final exam was 50% of the grade and was entirely about WWII.  I didn't study for it at all

This one is a bit harder to see the curly W.   That's the famous Tiger 131, the only running Tiger left in the world.  Captured intact in N Africa when a lucky shot from a British gun jammed its turret and the crew abandoned it.  The Museum folks take it out on the parade ground once a year and drive it.

And somewhere on my hard drive I have a pic of me and my curly W onboard the aircraft carrier IKE, out in the Gulf of Oman.   But damned if I can put my hand on it at the moment.

I'll be out in Cali for the Nationals-Dodgers series and will be out in full force in Nats gear.  My boy who lives out there says he sees a lot of Curly W hats in LA and at Dodger Stadium.
