Just got in from my run.   Don't know how old you are but you'll find the older you get, the longer it takes to get back to your pre-break distance/time (ain't rocket science LOL).    Where I'm at in life, a week is a l-o-o-o-n-n-n-n=g time to take off.

43.  Getting caught up after missing a week is getting tougher.   I did do a 5 mile hike last saturday, and was walking around at a trade show all week mon-wed, so at least it wasn't a complete loss.  Hopefully getting back out there tomorrow.

I'm a bit older :)     Even when I can't get out to run, I try to get a long walk in.

Had a week off (super busy and not feeling that well when I was free), but just did a great 4-5 miler. What a beautiful day. Nothing like a run to pull you out of a funk.

When you run, take your mental "inventory" with you.    When I run, I go through it and leave it along the path.

I love that, Mitlen. My head was a mess this morning. Ever since my run, I've felt great.

If I did that all those inventory items would try to jump back aboard the next day. :)

Just the idea of taking a mental inventory is enough to keep me on the sofa

Oh, they will.    There are some days I run and I unload so much that there are portions of the run I don't remember.   I get back to the house and wonder if I ran my whole route.     I asked my wife one day how did I cope before I started running?   She said, "You drank a lot."      I still drink but not as much.   :)

Okay, so despite the beautiful weather, green grass, and birds singing, that was the worst run I've had in weeks. Bleh.

It was just bleh. I have been really turning it up, running faster and longer - did an 8.5 minute mile for two days in a row, and at my age that's pushing it. I should have just taken a day off.

Ran my first 5k yesterday, Sunday the 22nd. Did the GWParkway 5k. 35:17, not great, but heck, I've had a quadruple bypass.

my couch to 5k plan fell apart in week 3, it has been almost 4 weeks since I last ran and I have a 5k on Saturday.  Fun times!

that's absolutely fantastic, and 2 minutes better than I ran mine last year.  I'm 43 in good shape with no heart surgery. :)  Congratulations!

Been having some great, great runs lately - no pain, I feel fast and light, good wind, etc. Gonna get my weight down a little more and target a 5K in the Fall.

Where do you do your training runs? I have no idea how fast/slow I am... I'd love to run sometime and see if I can keep up with you. Prolly not, but it'd give me a sense of how far I have to go...

I just run around my neighborhood in Alexandria/Mt. Vernon area. My Android phone has 2 apps that I can use and with the GPS, the phone measures the distance and tracks my time - RunDouble which is a Couch-to-5K training app and MapMyRun. MapMyRun.com - the website - is free, and allows you to create a point-and-click route that you run and will tell you the distance; you can then tell it your time, and it gives you all sorts of stats, elevation, etc.

The people that make MapMyRun also make MapMyRide - which will track your bike rides and training.

Speaking of a 5K, anyone want to do this run?

mapmyrun has apps for ios and android- same stats, but auto timing and mapping as you go

Thhe zombie run was advertised during the Walking Dead tv show. The store, Pacers, has a list of events:

And yes, google knows all. There's all sorts of dinky 5k fun runs all over town....
