I still find the selection at the park disappointing.  Obviously lots of BMC, plus Newcastle, Peroni, Dos Equis, Blue Moon, Heineken, etc.  Still a dearth of American craft brews.  The Sam Adams stand is back, and their products are at a handful of other places.  Flying Dog Amber and Atlantic Lager.  An unlabled Dogfish Head tap and a Starr Hill Jomo Lager tap in the Red Porch.

The Heineken Light club behind the Porch plays their music wayyy too loud, as I could hear it in my seats in Sec 105.

Glad to have Gordon Biersch opening Monday and Bluejacket later this spring.

Somebody   should pull together a beer map of Nats Park.

I got there late today and barely had time to get my first in the Loft before the World's Longest Rendition Of the National Anthem took place. I'm pretty sure Saltydad was regretting his decision to salute the flag throughout the whole thing.  But I digress.  I also noticed Sam Adams summer and Boston Lager in the Club at the pizza joint.  Didn't even make it to my usual oasis, the Red Porch.

Yes, they do.

Inbev (includes Anheuser Busch) gets a modest encroachment.

The Porch 's  Dogfish was 60 Minute; if we're lucky they have Raison d'etre.

They had Indian Brown Ale in addition to the 60 Minute.  I think the blogger was incorrect about the 90 Minute.

IPLs (India Pale Lagers -  a lager made with Noble hops) are a new trend that would make for a perfect ballpark beer.

That sounds really good.  What brands have IPLs ?

As someone who can't get enough of them, I really wish more hefeweizens were at Nats Park.  They seem like a great beer for games - sessionable and smooth/refreshing for warm days.

Victory Noble Pils, New Belgium Shift, and Tupper's Hop Pocket Lager are the three I've tried. I haven't seen Tupper's Lager since it was brewed by Old Dominion. I read that a lot of micro brewers are making them right now, but none in this area that I'm aware of.

I had a really nice IPL at Lost Rhino a couple of months ago (alas, its not one of their year-round styles), and I really like the Samuel Adams IPL--Double Agent.

Horror of horrors  ...  I went to Pittsburgh this weekend and discovered that Iron City is now brewing an "amber" beer.      Mercy on all of us   ....

I'm an old Western PA guy.   Over the years, I found Iron City and Rolling Rock to be some of the worst beer I ever had.   I know it's only one man's opinion but I won't touch the stuff.    My experience with beer drinkers in the Pittsburgh area is you either like IC products or you don't.   There are few 'tweeners on the subject.

I agree.  As someone that moved to Pa with an open mind in regards to beer IC beers are terrible.  In my opinion people drink them and swear by them because it is a local beer more than a great beer.

Just wait till you visit Texas.  The parochialism is WAY over the top.
