Man, it's amazing we're at the point so soon where Maya is truly an albatross. I can't believe that we've come so far as to no longer hope and pray he works out, displays the talent we signed him for. That we're so stacked as to not need to pray for a miracle? It's a good feeling.
Same with Wang. I'd long argued to keep him, to not have wasted all the money and time rehabbing him and have another team grab him and he suddenly returns to form and pays off for them. Now? Dump him, we don't need him, he's done.
Damn it's nice to have come so far in so little time. Although on the topic of AAAA pitching, I still wish Martis had worked out... He showed such promise for a couple of games, then... well, whatever team he's with now certainly hasn't fixed him. Still blows my mind though. I never, ever, buy jerseys of question marks. When he first came up, he was so dominant and had such good stuff I jumped at getting his jersey custom made. Money wasted now, although I'm probably one of the only morons around who has his jersey in my closet.
Tying it back into this thread: its just so nice not to spend the fall obsessing over Rule 5 guys. We're so stacked that not only isn't there room for them, but by and large any guys we lose don't matter. Far better than when we would worry about some AA player who may or may not work out, but who we desperately need to keep and find room to protect. Same applies for going nuts over which Rule 5 we should pick up in the hopes of not losing another 100 games. Now there's not a Rule 5 around who would improve the team or just be worth keeping on the active roster all season. Winning sure makes being a fan easier and less stressful.
