An exhibition game will be included in a Half or Partial Plan purchase. If an exhibition game is not scheduled, this game will be credited to your account.
 
Opening Day game is not included in any Partial Plan purchase. Partial Plan holders will have the opportunity to purchase Opening Day game in an exclusive sale in early 2013

Back in the middle of the last decade, when they couldn't draw flies to a picnic, the Washington Capitals had lots of promos and ticket prices didn't go up all that much from season to season. But then came the playoff drive in 2008 and the still-ongoing sell-out streak, and these promos and offers are all gone...replaced by ticket prices rising at by far the fastest rate (for non-premium seats) of any area pro sports club.

Simple supply-and-demand economics.

This is the beginning of the same economics at the Nationals, amid the post-season drive and best-ever Nats Park attendance, and we'll see more over the next few years if the Nats keep winning and keep drawing crowds: fewer and fewer deep-discount tickets, fewer and fewer T-shirts and other giveaways, Red Carpet Rewards scaled back or done away with altogether (depending on how much the STH base grows)...as well as, of course, higher ticket prices.

Simple supply-and-demand economics...one can only hope the Lerners don't get as carried away with it as Leonsis has at the Capitals (Club Red??)...meanwhile, welcome to The Price Of Success.

Its hard enough for me to sell individual tix of games I cant go to.  Im not about to invest That kind of money in the HOPE of finding 4 takers of 20 games each!  Then you have to worry about who gets special days, playoffs, etc. 

Nope I dont want to have to worry about all that stuff!

It's a bit of a hassle and it's not for everyone, for sure, but I find it worth the trouble. I get commitments up front so no cash flow issues arise and I'm fair about distributing tickets via a draft. Been doing it since 2005 and it's been a breeze. There were a couple of years there when the Nats sucked when I had to put a fair of tickets on Craiglist but it worked out.

Last year I bought better seats for opening day anyway.  No worries here.  I'm pretty happy with the George plan I have.  O's game and 4th of July both included.

But with partial plan holders now thrown in the mix for the STH presale, OD tickets will be tougher to come buy. Still doable, I think, but we'll see.

Another way to go is to get a group together for OD. You can get these tickets way ahead of the STH pre-sale.

On the benefits page for season tickets it says that all plans get free passes to the Stars and Stripes club. Is this for every game?  If this is true my wife would be more likely to okay a partial plan.  We got club seats in 216 for $8 on stubhub one time and between the food options and nicer bathrooms, it would be a big plus to have access.

no. I think there are a limited number of passes.  I think we had 2 for every seat.

Two per seat in the plan, but late in the season they are available on eBay for next to nothing.

Here's a clue, they don't scan your ticket at the S&S level. They just look at it...

So you're forging tickets or otherwise gaming the system?

i'll renew tickets but i'll wait until next year.  don't want to have anything to do with nats right now.

It's like expecting that all purchasers of a timeshare get to use it on Memorial Day weekend. It can't be guaranteed to everyone, because the math doesn't add up. But they can do a first come, first served process.

the problem with that is the early purchasers dont need as much incentivizing as the later ones- if you're on the fence anyway and the perks get less over times, I'd think you'd be less likely to buy

They check!  I once had to go thru because I was on the wrong side toget my free promo item. They let me cut thru but I was escorted the whole way!  Also you can be in the Open area but not the suites!  It can be hard to find a seat during rain delays and really hot days!
