Yankees "adversity"
« Topic Start: August 23, 2012, 11:20:01 PM »
Ivan Nova on DL with irritated rotator; CC Sabathia to return from DL. Yanks lead shrinks.

Now, more than ever, the Yankees need John Lannan. Sorry: he's ours.

Sure would have figured one of Betances or Banuelos would be helping them by now.  Go Rays!

Batances has been demoted to AA and still can find his release point. (Danger of a 6'8' pitcher)

Banuelos was shut down in mid May with a sore elbow. Originally thought to be minor, he hasn't pitched since and the Yankees finally pulled the plug a couple of weeks ago. No TJ is scheduled.

Yankees have had adversity all year.  Their leadoff hitter and left fielder and probably best defender, Brett Gardner, has been out all year.  Their number 2 starter, Pineda, missed the whole year.  They signed Pettite and he pretty much immediately got hurt.  Mariano Rivera tore up his knee.

The Yankees are where they are because some old guys are having really good years - Jones, Ibanez, Chavez.
