I'm just being self-serving.  I made that pano out of pictures I took at opening day '08.  It's also the basis for the forum banner.

And you did a fine job.  I just like to mix things up on occasion.

Did you take that/those shot(s)?  They look nicer than the ones I used.  Probably a nicer camera, too.

Ummm, I've never been to Nats park.  But yes, I have used professional photography equipment in a former life and hopefully again in a future one as well.

Weren't you in VA last year or the year before?  I could've sworn I remembered you saying something about going to a game.  Bummer :(

Yeah, I was, I had a family reunion in Richmond, and I desperately wanted to get to a game, they were playing Philly, don't remember if it was in Philly or DC, but I couldn't work it out.  I went to some Nats games in St. Louis last year, but we were way up at the top of the stadium.  I got a few shots, but nothing like those posted in the top.  Most of the stuff I got wasn't actually of the game, I did take a series of shots to put into a panoramic image but never got around to it.  Maybe sometime this summer...

Really feel like this is an important game if we want to win this series. Livan is due for a bad outing... but I'm hoping its not tonight!

Really feel like this is an important game if we want to win this series.

Boswell made a good point today in his column (pretty good stuff) that the next 15 games are tough, the 62 after that are all teams that missed the playoffs.  So if we can stay around .500 the next two weeks we're in good shape.  We survived - actually we lived and did some damage - in what looked like an almost impossible April ... let's take that into the first two weeks of May.

Livan is due for a bad outing... but I'm hoping its not tonight!

Eh, the way he's pitching right now ... he looks like one of the best.  I don't like thinking like "so and so is due for a bad outing".

In before BABIP?

I might miss some of the game for LOST. I don't think the wifey will want to watch that on Tivo tomorrow.

I agree, I think with Livan getting off to a phenomenal start and the vastly improved defense around him, combined with the chip on his shoulder that he is in for a really good season.

I'm just saying... past performance... and the fact that his BABIP (.180) is .130 points lower than his career averages means that its only a matter of time.

But, hopefully time doesn't come till the Nats are like on a 5-6 game win streak!

Fixed.  Past performance is not necessarilly indicative of future results.  I'd agree that's likely that he regresses closer to where he's been the past few years, but the past few years, he hasn't had a healthy knee either...

Fair points... but, the last three years that Livo had an ERA under 4.... 2003 (3.20) 2004 (3.60) and 2005 (3.98) his BABIP's were .292, .281 and .307.

So, some regression to the past should be expected

Probably.

On any given day, anything can happen
(gosh that sounds down right mathematical, don't it?)
