Look who's also in last place
« Topic Start: May 21, 2008, 08:13:47 AM »
Of course, we all shouldn't be accepting the fact that the Nats are in last place, but guess who else is sitting in the cellar as well....

The Yankees.  And they only have two less losses than Washington.

Eat it, Steinbrenner.  Losing 12-2 at home is pretty embarrassing, huh?

What's wrong with 12-2?

Isn't that a pretty horrible loss by Yankee standards?  Losing 12-2 at Yankee Stadium?  Isn't that a "sports"fan Most Embarrassing Loss™?

I would say so!  :)

  I get it, sorry.  I thought you were saying their record was 12-2 at home, which made no sense in the context of the rest of the posts.

I can't wait for the day when the Yankees say: "Look who's also in first place! The Nationals".  Who would'a thunk it!

While it is amusing, I just can't take much comfort in the Yanks being in last place considering they have little to nothing to do with us.

QFT  Who cares that they are in last place. It's possible that they could turn it around and then what solace will people try to find when we are still playing like crap? And I'm not an orioles fan so I don't take any pleasure in the fact that it was the orioles that beat them.

The solace that Billy Traber, Jonathan Albaladejo, and Darrell Rasner would finally be on a winning team?

The yankees were in the same place last year this time and ended up with what? 90 wins and a playoff appearance -- pretty sure the Nats aren't going to do that ... so I'll take momentary pleasure it the yankees current state of woe - but it will be fleeting and won't make things any different for the Nats ... sigh ...

I would take more pleasure in their loss had been to a team other than the O's. At least only four of the O's runs were earned. :D

Jonathan Albaladejo
We really could use that guy right now. He was good.

Clippard would probably be in the Yankees rotation right now. That's pretty nuts.

Well maybe this will keep the "Free Agents are the answer" folks quite for awhile.

I don't think the Yankees got any big free agents this past offseason.

But didn't they just lose Jeter? I heard he got hit on the hand the other night.

Against Jeff Suppan and his 4.78 ERA? Forget it.  :?

Perez will get lit up anyways.  :|
