I think Stammen has pitched a pretty good game so far. Only given up 3 hits ... come on guys!! He's only a rookie!

Not even close. Morgan gets nailed more than the class slut at a keg party.

Well, I'm a veteran of more than a handful of keg parties.  However, I can say with absolute assurance, that our switch to the "different drink in every room" theme was a much greater lure for the nubile.  :icon_mrgreen:

We did have to work past that initial phase where we sampled our drinks starting a little too early, and found the grain to be as devastating on the perpetrators as on the intended victims.    :glug: :? :? :-[

They better not trade him. He's under team control for a long time.

I don't know what Anderson Hernandez has done to somebody in power, on this team.  Guzman should never see the field, as a Nationals player, again.

In the past when Guzman has sucked, he's been hiding some injury.  Mark my words, the Nats will discover something within the next week or so.  Guzman hides that sort of thing.  Remember, he wanted to go back out on the field with his thumb ligament torn from the bone.

Actually, Stammen pitched in that game too.  It was the 13-2 blowout at Houston.

Well they told us he had bunions about a week ago. Maybe he's got an ingrown nail too.

Well that explains it, it was lost in the shuffle.  ;)

This inning could get ugly fast for Stammen.

Guzman is pinning his struggles on being bumped down to the 6th spot. He sounds like Soriano. :?

Quote
Most players, interim manager Jim Riggleman said on Wednesday, "don't really care where they hit. They really don't." But at least one player on Riggleman's roster, Cristian Guzman, cares quite a bit. Dropped to sixth in the lineup after the team acquired natural leadoff man Nyjer Morgan, Guzman has since dropped into a slump as well.

Whether that slump is a byproduct of the lineup shift or a mere coincidence, Riggleman isn't sure. But the evidence of a link is strong enough that Washington, in an effort to jump-start its shortstop, is moving Guzman back to the No. 2 spot. Perhaps for the foreseeable future.

"Somehow or another it can get in your head, where you're hitting in the lineup," Riggleman said. "Whether it did or not [with Guzman] I don't know, but we're going to try to get him going again and have him hitting higher in the lineup... I said to him a few nights ago, 'You don't want to hit down there, do ya?' And he was just like, 'Nah.' "

People tend to laugh and minimize the importance of feet to athletic endeavors, but it all starts  there.   If your feet aren't in good shape, all kinds of adverse impact.
