Yep, same here.  I thought I'd completed the Mage's College main quests, but now I've found that there are some followup quests, so I'm not sure if I was really "finished".  Regardless, they're quite fun.  Hope the other factions have such engaging storylines.

Are you going to do the other factions on the same character?  Or do them on a new one?  Can you even do all of them on one character?  I mean it seems like I'd rather save the thieves guild quest for my sneaky kitty.

Maybe in the future when I've tried all the diff play styles I'll do a "one Dovakhin to rule them all" type character, but for now I'm planning to leave the Thieve's Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc. for another playthrough.

Leveled up twice just by making Iron Daggers with all the material I had stockpiled.

I wasted two perks and probabl 2-3 cumulative levels on smithing early-mid game and wish I hadn't.  While it looks like a ton of fun for a melee character, it just contributed to my lagging behind in magical skills/perks that I should've been focusing on all along.

Definitely looking forward to fully exploring that skill when I get around to playing a pure fighter though.

Well, I'm a pure fighter build.

But it was just all the ore I had collected over time. If I had a decent enchantment I could have made a fortune. I took the Dwarven perk and made some Dwarven armor. Not sure why I haven't found some decent heavy armor by now.

Of course, I wasted some perks on Magika early, going for some magic/sword build that didn't work out. Now I'm straight Barbarian and pwning everything.

Okay, that's why I was confused - I remembered you mentioning playing a battlemage.

I think the best heavy armor I've come across is Either Orcish or Dwarven (whichever is better).  Supposedly you can craft Dragon Armor with the bones and scales you get from them (I think?)

How's the increased difficulty going for you btw?  You playing at Expert now, or Master?

I take this back, I've seen Ebony pieces a few times.

So ya, been playing for awhile now and I still haven't done the main quest. Only done 1 side quest. Got side tracked by some bandits.

I haven't really done much of the main quest either. I'm doing the companions quests now.

I'm wearing Elven armor right now. I just like light armor better than the heavy stuff. I do have a full suit of Dwarven armor as well. I have to admit, the Dwarven armor is pretty bad ass looking.

I just switched from Elven to Dwarven.

Heavy armor is so... heavy. Can't carry enough. If these shopkeepers would stockpile some more gold I could offload more of my potions. I make them faster than I can sell them. I was going through my inventory and had 30+ resist frost potions.

Sounds like you have a crapload of gold like me. It seems like it easier in this one to get gold. I could be wrong, but I don't remember being this rich early on in the last two ES games. I'm sitting on almost 8000 in gold right now and I own one house. BTW, anyone buy the house in Solitude yet? It's selling for the reasonable price of 25000 gold.

I invested in the first three speech perks on the left side of the tree, makes you able to sell anything to any merchant - well worth it IMO.

Anybody else done "Forbidden Legend"?  If Kevrock can do the final boss battle for that one and tell me it was still too easy, I'll be impressed.

I've done one part of "Forbidden Legend", but not the whole quest yet.

I don't want to spoil anything but they really take it to another level with the final battle.

I may have had a late start but I started with a marathon. :mg:

After one long continous game yesterday, I have gone from zero to half way through level 8. I am quite happy with that considering it is the first time I have played this series. I also went the mage route, High Elf with all perks on destruction, and a few unallocated that I am uncertain what to use them on for now. I have recently bought several spellbooks so I have something else to try out. Any suggestions areas of focus for perks or it generally advisable to be patient?

The game is immersive enough I regret accidently killing my companion NPC (Faendal). He helps me out gets killed for his trouble and loses his girl to that Elf hating Sven.  Granted not enough to stop me from looting his house with his key. Fortunately for me, I nearly completed my archery training with him, granted I rarely actually use a bow. A loophole which I am sure others have noticed is that you can train and reclaim your gold. For some reason, this didn't bother me although I skipped the putting pots and baskets on people's heads loophole. :mg:

The quest I completed after the default one was The Golden Claw variation of Bleak Falls Barrow, although I did it offline so no achievement for me. or as I am beginning to suspect becasue I have not yet done Enter the Court Wizard.  I ended up wandering around for quite awhile after inadventantly setting a custom destination. Silly n00b, if it is blue and flashing it must be my quest and must be some kind of puzzle. In the Bleak Falls Barrow quest, it took me three trys to figure out how to kill the Draugr Overlord. After Faendal got killed, it slowed me down for awhile.

As somone new to the game, I initially enjoyed Alchemy (nice to wander around and collect plants) and to a lesser extent Smithing/Forging but as time goes by it seems to be inverting itself. For alchemy, the fail button comes up too often for me, so I suspect I need to get over my reluctance to look up potion combinations on the web. It would be nice if you could get tips like making other things. Granted, I have not seen anyplace yet to enchant anything.

Feel free to add me to Steam chat by removing the spaces in the following Obed_Marsh. Feel free to pass on to other WNFF folks if they are looking for others.

For now, I think I will pause a bit to reflect on where to go with the perks and which quests to take on next. Hot damn, this is quite the immersive, addictive game. I have never played anything like it. I wish I could bind spells to the 1-0 keys and the Razar Naga like in a MMOG.

 It is one hell of an amazing game. I'm level 21 now, but I just keep getting surprised by this game.

Xbox has the best ratings but if you want the option to use a keyboard/mouse or take advantage of the mods PC would be better. I cannot comment from personal experience, I opted for the PC version.
