He's a nice insurance policy should ramos struggle next year, otherwise a heck of a trade chip.

As Casey Stengel said, "You can't have too many catchers". [Actually, I made that up. But the Yankees had Yogi Berra and Elston Howard several years]

(Davey probably said that to Randy Knorr when Flores got his fingers mashed by a foul ball last week.)

Honestly, and sadly, I'm not predicting when, or if, Wilson Ramos makes it all the way back. Big guy, ugly injury to a joint that has to bend all the time. For now, and six months from now, it's Flores + Solanno + Leon + ??? in line.

2 HRs and 5 RBIs last night for Freitas.

Pop is down this year but his overall line is respectable for a catcher. .284/.389/.428 (.817 OPS)

I really like him. What kind of future do you think he has? When I saw him last year when Zim played in Hagerstown he really seemed to have a good grasp of how to call a game and handle a pitcher. If I'm not mistaken, AJ Cole pitched that game too and Harper got HBP in his first AB.

Weird.. really?

I heard he was pretty terrible behind the plate.

Hope that was just a rogue scout's opinion.

It was the only time I saw him play. I don't know what his catching fundamentals are like or anything like that, but he seemed to keep Cole calm. Who knows, one game does not a career make

Well he has to go through a position change soon... So that could slow down his development time.

Could be promoted now that Leon is being called up.

All scouting reports are that he can't stay behind the plate as he's a very bad catcher.

Saw on Nats Prospects that they thought Potomac would be the last level he'd catch at.

The report that he was going to stop catching was from last week.
