  Our radio PBP team is awesome.

He often looks weird in his posts, and I think that just proves it.

Since everyone here seems to love the radio guys, I've decided to take a listen for the past two weeks.

I'm sorry, but the play-by-play guy to me sounds exactly like Harry Shearer doing a Simpsons character voice.

He inflects way too much.

They both do play-by-play, alternating innings.  Which one?

You are not the only one that thinks Charlie's voice is a bit of an affectation.

Still, they're good. Way better than most.

I definitely prefer Dave's voice. But Charlie says interesting things (Dave does too, more interesting sometimes, but I'm just saying that's the thing that counts).

Hilarious, the radio guys are just KILLING it. Charlie called Dave "Bill" for some completely unknown reason and Dave is like "Bill, who's Bill? Are you seeing other broadcasters??!"

You know "Dave" there are way worse things to call a person

OMG

I'm crying

After the first basemen dropped the ball, Charlie said there must be Bill's butter on his hands

killing me

Did you do this? If so, hook me up.

They played this on WTOP this morning and I was rolling. Everyone on WTOP thought it was hilarious.

Uhhh, now that you mention it, a couple of nights ago as I was driving home (first Braves game?) and I realized I wasn't sure which was which.

The up-and-down inflection was most obvious during a rain delay some games ago and the announcer was doing out-of-town scores.  (Sounded just like Shearer.)  He also seems to do the pre-game stuff and the pre-game Riggleman interview.

Does that help?  Is that only one guy?

One more pet peeve:  Though during the game itself, his voice was better, he is often a couple of seconds behind the play.   One could clearly hear the ball hit the cather's glove.  And then the announcer said "(pitcher) rearing back ... and throws ... low ... for ball one."   Am I the only one who notices this?

I'm willing to bet Charlie is the one you like less. Dave has a little more normal of a voice.

Charlie calls the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 9th.
Dave calls the 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th.

Umm, and yeah, I can't believe anyone would have negative comments about Charlie & Dave. They are incredible and I hope they never leave DC.

There was more later but I forgot and did that quick before work.  Also, Audio Hijack's free version only allows 10 minutes of recording in a single section until it overlays static in the recording.

Dave: So they scored 17 runs last night... if that was in Nats Park, would they have, what, that's almost 3 free wings? Would they give people two and five-sixths free wings?
Charlie: How many wings are in the free wings? Since it's 6 runs, is it 6 wings? If they're big wings, that's okay...

I don't think we get the Nats broadcast here in Cumberland. We get the O's and Pirates, but no Nats.

During Yunesky Maya's at-bat
Dave: Ross is at little league depth in right field.
Charlie: That's how they played me in little league.
Dave: Are you disparaging your little league abilities, Charlie?
Charlie: That's how they played me.
Dave: They didn't just line everybody up across the infield?
