Hope Zimmermmann makes his parents (and friends) proud :)

And by that you mean, strikes out everyone and hits a home run to single handledly win the game

Hope the whole team does.  Dont discount run support!

Well his last few outings the rest of the team must have felt guilty for not giving him good run support and have really stepped up to the plate, so hope they keep up that pace :)

Harper out with a stomach virus.

I could make a joke involving last night's GDT...

Just kidding, lastobective!  Glad to have you here - no offense meant by today's GDT, just having some fun.

Definitely.  It's always cool to see retro uniforms.  Hopefully they bring some luck to the Nats.

LOL...the scoreboard operator only put one N at the end of JZ's last name.  See, it happens at other parks once in a while...

They're honouring the Negro Leagues tonight (per Slowes & Jageler) - the Milwaukee Bears and the Homestead Grays.

I wouldn't mind the block W year-round.

It'd differentiate the NL's uniforms more.

Wish they would go back to high socks for everyone. Very classy.

And I love the block W just as much as out curly W! Hope they break out those uniforms again sometime soon.

Who are the Milwaukee Bears?

A Negro League team (1923, according to Slowes).

Think they'll sell replica jerseys in the next homestand?

The Milwaukee Bears only existed for one year?

Smells like a cash grab.

Negro leagues formed teams when they could.  Doubt much money was made!

I love the throwback nights and love when we wear the Grays uni's. It also seems like we always do well when the team wears 'em. Can't remember the road gray versions. Pretty cool.

On Friday, Manager Davey Johnson said in a radio interview that Harper was feeling sick and vomiting before Thursday’s game. Harper is 1 for 8 with a walk over the past two games.

Then why the hell did they put him in? I admire his dedication but man...
