NatsAddict, I need your help on this:

Is Taylor Tankersley from Vicksburg, Mississippi or Missoula, Montana?

He was born in Mississippi, though his left and right ears were born in Alabama and Louisiana, respectively.  He lives in Mississippi in the  offseason.

Probably a mixup with a same/similar name, but the MLB Tank is indeed a in-bred pure-bred Mississippian.

Sure his parents weren't visiting Montana and he popped out early? That's what I figure is causing the mix up.

Hey, Sarah Palin's baby hit the eject button in Texas and she managed to get it all the way back to Alaska before unzipping her pants!

Levi Johnston sounds like an NFL player... no way in hell does that sound like a white guy from Alaska.

Makes some sense for them.  Let's see if Omar can find a way to overpay.  He has to do something to stay in contention with his contest with Dayton Moore.

he'd get more per year as a free agent- if arbitration is supposed to be a fair price, its not out of the question.

Licey Tigers umpire Jose Offerman just punched an umpire in the neck.

Watch the video:

The Licey Tigers roster includes Atahualpa Severino (though he's at the rookie development thing), Jorge Sosa, Ronny Paulino, Erick Aybar, Emilio Bonifacio, Anderson Hernandez, and Wily Mo Pena.

That is kind of a weak punch. I mean, if you are going to make yourself the laughing stock of the media and your peers while possibly getting a huge punishment coming to you, you might as well wind up and make it count.

Didn't Offerman take a bat to a pitcher a couple of years ago?

The Indians acquired shortstop Brian Bixler from the Pirates for infielder Jesus Brito, according to a team press release.  MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince says Bixler will compete with Jason Donald, Mark Grudzielanek, and Luis Rodriguez for a utility infield role.

Bixler, 27, hit .275/.343/.439 at Triple A this year - his third stint at the level.  Heading into 2009 Baseball America labeled him an "average defensive shortstop," noting his ability to play second base and predicting a utility future.  Brito, 22, hit .353/.431/.567 for the Indians' rookie and short-season clubs in '09.

wow, they must think that Brito is a major fluke. cause why would they trade him with those numbers? i guess he's way too old for his level.

He just turned 22 a few weeks ago. No power but he has good plate discipline, can hit a little, and has some speed although for whatever reason he didn't use it last year.

Bixler is AAAA player. Strikes out a massive amount for a guy with no power too.

His slugging came out of nowhere . . . and that's a ridiculous increase in triples.

# Peter Gammons, in an appearance on NESN, said that the Red Sox and Jason Bay agreed to a four-year, $60MM pact in July, before an MRI raised concerns about both of his knees.  As a result, Boston reduced their offer from four years to two years.  Gammons suggested that this was an example of why an independent medical staff should be in place in the majors.

Why? The Red Sox tried to low ball Bay and got caught.

Justin Verlander asked for $9,500,000, offered $6,900,000.

The Tigers are nuts.
