I like your verve, though.

Don't worry - nobody around here is really gonna give up on this team, even if they finish in last place.  Well, I hope that doesn't happen, but you get my point.

The fact is, for all of this team's flaws, they're actually the types that you CAN fix in an off-season (or even during the season).  We've GOT the pitching, we've (usually) got the bullpen and the closer.  We just need better and more consistent hitting.  Plus a friggin' owner.  And a new GM.  And a new manager!

And a new leadoff hitter!

And a new shortstop!

And a new third baseman!

And a new second baseman!

I think the beginning of the end tonight was, and I can't believe I'm posting this, Baerga batting for Guzman.

I actually think Guz would have had a better chance of getting a hit.

I'm sorry, I think our team is perfect (except for Guzman) and Frank Robinson and Jim Bowden are great at their jobs. Bowden doesnt have money, we would have gotten someone without a doubt if we had money!!!

There is absolutely no logical or statistical justification for your statement.

And yet I agree.  Why?

Have things come to such a pass that NOW I'M THINKING OF GUZMAN AS A CLUTCH HITTER?

Another one run loss.

Hell, even a team that is struggling worse than us, San Diego, broke out for 11 runs tonight to win in a blow out.  Can we please get one break out laugher???  It's amazing how bad our offense is.  Nobody wants to say it, but I'm worried that Castilla may be shot for the year.  He looks bad at the plate and is 3 for his last 35.  I think the knee and his age are doing him in.  Expecting him and Wilson to drive runs in batting 5-6 is not going to happen.

while there is always hope - these games are getting a little frustrating....continued lack of clutch hitting (and by our supposed good guys like Vidro and Guillen - come on get Wilkerson in from 3rd with less than 2 outs) and lack of hustle by Wilson and Vidro.....and mental mistakes by Vidro......Wilson should be benched and/or fined for his lack of hustle on the so-called double by Kent (of course since the next batter hit a homer wouldn't have mattered if he was on first or second - course he could have been out at second if Vidro holds the throw in) and Vidro's baserunning - come on......well there's always tomorrow and I'll be there in my usual seat in 212....
