No he was out.

I know he was "called" out - but was it another infamous "close" play?

this is a tight game - and Corales has no backup catcher (i guess if need be he can move fick to catch and find someone to play first)

I'm gonna be pissed if Dmitri actually gets 6 million a year.

 :icon_question:

The problem is, that's STARTER money on this team. Why have 4 guys for 2 positions all w/ starter money?

Perhaps they don't believe NJ will be back or that Church will be dealt away.

It's not high starter money.  Even with Johnson, we don't have a reliable bat at that position, other than him.

And we don't even know if Johnson will be back.

I'm just glad the Nats won't be involved in any trade deadline foolishness and we can just worry about winning as many games as possible.

Guys, Gameday has game highlights already, you can see the Lannan ejection among other plays.  Link at center bottom.

That's pretty cool how the Philles' announcer was saying Lannan getting thrown out was ridiculous.

I think Utley was off the bag,  WE wouldn't have gotten that call.

touche .... but that is starter money for this year .... but it won't be for long. We "have been told" that the payroll for next year should be around 70 mil or so .... adding what belly and meat are going to get next year plus this years payroll is about 45, then kearns' raise puts us at 50 ... that leaves 20 million for 1-3 players (my guess is 2,a  cf and a pitcher) to cover the difference.

4 guys, 2 positions, 2 seats on the DL ...

Perhaps, but I'm still not happy. I'll get over it, though. Not really comfortable w/ Dmitri in the outfield either.

maybe its time to start thinking about this guy starting more often.  How much longer will the team be tolerating a .230 hitting catcher
