Can anyone tell me where to find the second part of the Top Gear Nile special? I don't want to wait a week.

So, when a convicted serial killer has meetings with visitors at a federal prison, are those conversations recorded?  That show expects viewers to suspend disbelief to a ridiculous degree.  Law enforcement is not that inept.

I can't speak for the feds, but as far as I know we don't record visits. Video? Yes but not audio that I know of. Legal visits may not be recorded at all at least as far as audio goes.

This Vikings show is pretty awesome.  Within 5 minutes I get to see fighting, ravens, Odin, and some Valkyries.

I think this will be a guilty pleasure of mine. The second episode was very good. Also, the wife/shieldmaiden/lagertha is very hot.

Yeah. :( Shows like these won't thrive unless they are on one of those premium channels. I would think a Viking show would be amazing on those channels but I guess they don't agree. Anyway, still good so far.

I think history probably just out bid them-the bible is also high budget- maybe their're trying to be the new AMC. It's not just the nudity- the violence is also pretty non-graphic compared to how it could be

I haven't checked out either of those shows, but I find the nudity/violence competitions on HBO to be distracting; it doesn't add anything to the shows. Game of Thrones is the worst at this.

Yeah that's what I was referring to. We'd get more violence, gore, nudity, and rage.

the following is decent ... a lot of predictable storylines, but some nice twists.

it's no the americans.  love that show.

I find the violence to be distracting, but the other to be pleasant. :)

Both are cool. GoT definitely goes over the top since but I feel it adds to the story since, in my mind, people were naked and killing stuff all the time back then.

I trust you on that since you majored in history.

Meh, I find that I'm one of those people that thinks that gratuitous violence and sex takes away from the story. I understand if you're just watching a show FOR the gratuitous violence/sex, but I usually watch shows for a good story, not overly-long sex scenes that add nothing (I'm looking at you, HBO's GoT)

Rates of violence have absolutely plummeted over time, so we are currently in by FAR the least violent era of human history. To the average American today, the amount of violence in medieval times would be unspeakable and hard to imagine.

I have no idea if people are getting more or less naked over time, but medieval Europe was dominated by the church so I suspect the answer is "only if a priest is forcing sex on you." Now, medieval GoT universe, who knows? The rise of global warming and central heating/A/C in the past century makes nudity much more practical. I mean, in the 1300s in Iceland I bet people had sex in their fur coats.

Nudity with no purpose is stupid. If I want to see boobage, I'll just find it on the Internet. We don't need TV to see boobs anymore.
