If anything the Brewers are even LESS likely to win because of the psychological trauma of losing a combined 22-9 to the Nationals.
they are angry and embarrassed so I expect them to come out fired up tonight. The fans have been booing them mercifully. No way they lose 3 straight at home to the lowly Nats. inconceivable.

Remember all those warning track flyouts Bally served up last night?  If Mock serves up similar pitches tonights, the odds fairy is likely to give them that extra push, right over the fence.  Damn that sucks for Mock.
I would say that he will give up a few bombs. Fielder and Braun are due for a big game against us.

Belliard and Kearns have both contributed in the past week.  It's not much, but it's a start.  And I kind of like Riggleman's vow to rest a regular or two every night for a few weeks.  Doing so requires using the bench, and getting better performance out of our bench is a bit of an overlooked factor in turning the team around.

I say overlooked, because there were so many key failures (bullpen, Dukes, fielding, etc.) that we haven't seen as much criticism of the overall bench, although plenty of anti-love for individuals.

ooooo I just gotta do this because I see so many people make the same mistake-It's "mercilessly".   They definitely are not showing their team any mercy right now.

Being fired up is more of an asset in football than in baseball, but I believe that psychological factors do play a subtle role in the way games unfold.  However, to say that the Nats winning tonight is "inconcievable" is quite a ridiculous statement.

Odds stole my lunch money once.

You are right on, but people see the Monty Hall problem and think that some magic happens after the goat is revealed.

Well, you're a gambler, right?  What are the betting odds on a Nats win?  Bet they're just a tad better than 6.4%.

Why the quote of the definition?  none of those are accurate for this game?

freak the stats.

Really? REALLY? You use stats all the time to prove your points and when they don't support your case you resort to obscure stats. That's just comical.

Just stop digging dude.

Kearns being in there had better be because Rizzo received an offer like this, "Hey we're interested in that Austin Kearns guy and we'll give you SOMETHING for him, can you showcase him in today's game for us?"

There was a time when I might have cared about Nieves/SF vs Bard/Hammonds.  They both suck.

There was a time when I might have cared about Tomterp's numbers vs SF's guts.  The Nats are 0-162 when SF predicts the outcome.

There was a time when I might have cared about PA's incredible inability to let go of a(n incorrectly) perceived insult.  I abhor animal cruelty no matter what kind of animal it is.

Tonight I just want to watch baseball and drink beer.  Fortunately I have plenty of both on-hand   :ballbat: :glug:

And in spite of all the crap we talk to each other around here, there's nobody I'd rather watch these games with.  Because damned if SF won't probably say something hilarious.  Probably more than once  :whip: :stir:
