Nationals vs Indians, Game 3
« Topic Start: June 24, 2007, 12:38:58 PM »

June 24, 2007 - RFK Stadium, 1:35

Jake Westbrook
1-2, 7.90 ERA

Jason Simontacchi
4-5, 3.31 ERA

Grady Sizemore (CF)
Casey Blake (3B)
Victor Martinez (C)
Travis Hafner (1B)
Jhonny Peralta (SS)
Trot Nixon (RF)
Franklin Gutierrez (LF)
Josh Barfield (2B)
Jake Westbrook (P)

Cristian Guzman (SS)
Brandon Watson (CF)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Dmitri Young (1B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Langerhans (LF)
Jesus Flores (C)
Jason Simontacchi (P)

_______________________________________ _________

Westbrook will be making his first start since May 2, as he returns from a strained left abdominal muscle that landed him on the 15-day disabled list quite a bit longer than anticipated. He made four rehab appearances, the last of which came Monday at Triple-A Buffalo, where he held Louisville to two runs (one earned) on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts in four innings. He threw 82 pitches, so he should be able to throw into the 90s in this outing against the Nationals, a team he has never faced.

In his last start against the Tigers, Simontacchi had nothing in the tank. He gave up 10 runs, which tied a club record set by Expos right-hander Shayne Bennett, in three-plus innings.

I'd like to see langershans batt leadoff one day. he has very good on-base percentage and knows the strike zone pretty well.

Good evening or good afternnoon, everybody.
Let's go to win this game and this series!

No Church, no Felipe and no Nook.
That's certainly an interesting lineup

And we just re-acquired Levale Speigner from the Twins for Darnell McDonald. I bet he winds up shining and we wind up looking foolish.

Since we weren't giving McDonald a chance up here we might as well have traded him although we didn't get much in return.

No what happened was that we traded McDonald to retain the rights to Speigner after we optioned him to Harrisburgh.

Man Caron looked almost as bad as that Mayor did on Opening Day in Cincinnati.

Fick is due to come off the bereavement list by the time we arrive in Pittsburgh so if Watson can piece together a couple more decent games we should see Logan demoted from the Nationals.
