lol 2-3 wins.  Okay.

59-103
59-103
59-78

2-3 wins more gets us to 61-62 already with 25 to go.  For a franchise trying to rebuild the infrastructure while not completely losing the fanbase, dumping someone who was a black hole on the overall record should have been obvious.  Factor in the way AlGo has played this season and we may be talking 1 more win.  I'll take 62-63 at this point instead of hoping for it the first week of October.  Those kind of moves, maximizing the roster by the manager, are the difference in squeaking out that extra couple of wins and that's what eventually differentiates fairly comparable teams.

It was a pretty obvious move but one that Riggleman couldn't figure out.

I would like to say that this mentality is detrimental to a game built on statistics.  Every edge you maximize counts.  Every win matters, even in a losing season.  It's just the mindset you have to have to build a winning team, which starts with a winning mentality.

Kennedy has a 0.8 WAR on the season compared to Guzman's 0.5 with the Nats. We are talking about 1 win at best.

Kennedy should be brought to spring training. If he plays like this next year, he's an asset as a possible leadoff guy. His age could finally end him. AlGo should be kept around for his defense and his ability to play 3B, SS, 2B, and 1B. My hope is Desmond/Kennedy start up the middle with either Espinosa forcing himself into the spot or AlGo's bat being decent enough eventually he could be a good starter for us(especially if our offense as a whole picks it up and we can afford a glove only player in the lineup).
