Well, I wouldn't be "scared" of a Carlos Gomez comp, since Eury likely won't strike out as much. I mean, Carlos Gomez sans 25% K rate is basically a 2-2.5 win player over a full season in CF (mostly due to defense and positional adjustment, obviously). That's a fairly valuable player at $500,000 a year while under team control, right?
They can't all be Jim Edmonds or Grady Sizemore. The world needs ditchdiggers, too.

Gomez has his uses... but he's not the star some thought he'd be. I could see Perez becoming that type of player. A guy that has a couple of years as the starting CF'er for a contending level ballclub.
