What other options do we have in AAA? If they aren't ready to bring up Storen bring some other right-hander up.

Anything is better than this crapshow. It's not like Bruney was consistently dominant last year.

Severino and maybe someone else (feels like I'm forgetting someone), but Storen is clearly the best option.

It was a legitimate question.  :?

I know you don't trust prospects, but there's no way that Storen is less qualified to pitch in the big leagues right now than Bruney.  They definitely do not need a better look at him.

You missed my point again. I was hoping for an explanation about their justification.

Riggleman claimed in the pregame that Harris has hit Jimenez well and since Willingham and Guzman were not playing he was there to provide protection for Zimmerman.

You were right about their supposed justification.  It's pure bullcrap, though.

Wow...didn't Willingham just sit out a couple of games recently too?

Riggleman has made some pretty odd moves this season so far I think...but it's working for the most part.

He has a strained groin.

Damn this is taking much longer than I thought it would. What do you think is their real reason for waiting this long?

But I thought that was no longer the issue because that date passed 10 days ago. Maybe this was explained to me incorrectly or I didn't understand the explanation. I give up.  :hang:

Oh, I see.  No, that date did not pass.  The date is actually unknown at this time.  It should start in a few days, but it varies.

It's based on the service time of all other big leaguers who have been called up this year (or who have been called up in previous years but won't accrue enough service time until 2013.)

The only cutoff that's passed so far was the date to actually postpone free agency an extra year.  That was in mid-late April.  The Mets called up Ike Davis right after that date.

They could take any pitcher, starter or reliever, and likely improve:

PLAYER, TEAM    POS         IP       H    ER   BB    K   W  SV  ERA  WHIP
Brian Bruney, Was RP      17.2    21   15    20   16   1    0   7.64   2.32

5/15   @Col                           1.0      2     3      2     0             27.00  4.00

Actually they could grab a Little Leaguer

I am at work so I missed the whole game. who was the culprit for the loss? Livan was due for a bad start, so I am assuming it is him.

He gave up 3 runs. Jimenez gave up 2. I didn't watch all of it so I don't know how our offense did. Bruney then gave up 3 more runs in the 8th.

Livan - 6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 3 K

It goes down as a quality start and he really was pretty solid.  Allowed an two out RBI in the bottom 6th, which obviously did us in and he wasn't as sharp as he was last Sunday ... but it's a quality start and he gave us a chance.

Jimenez gave up two runs, but we let him off the hook multiple innings.

Bruney ... well I'll leave it at: Bruney being Bruney

I don't get this "avoiding Super Two" thing.  You're assuming that he's so good that he'll never be sent down again.

That's VERY unlikely.
