still think this guy should have been the pinch runner last year so as to not start Turner's clock.

Or... we could have scooped up a Quintin Berry type and it would have only cost  :$$$: :$$$:

You never know with guys with big tools. He probably has as good a chance of being our 2018 CF now as the day he was drafted.

He's on a tear to start the season. .373/.439/.529

He's still only 25. Maybe there's some hope for him as a 4/5th OF

If he stays hot then he is definitely young enough to still breakthrough. I saw the first few games he was hitting well so good to see he has continued.

Werth was in the minors forever as were a bunch of other quality major league players. That would be a really good story and example for players in our organization who have seen guys like Harper, Taylor, and Rendon shoot through the organization.

Taylor didn't come up until he was 25 or 26, right?

I was thinking of Souza?

24/25 isn't old for a prospect to be called up. Well, maybe a little. But it's definitely not uncommon.  I think Nats fans have been a little spoiled with the likes of Zimmerman, Harper, Rendon, Taylor, and Felipe Rivero.

Goodwin has been hampered by small, but nagging injuries the last couple seasons. Would be nice if he developed in to something serviceable, much like Souza has.

Wasn't Souza a late bloomer too?  Hmm, I wonder what rizzo can get from San Diego for Goodwin?

Yes. But he was also blocked pretty heavily.

Rays wanted Souza.

I say if Goodwin stays hot for 100-150 at bats then you consider calling him up if Taylor keeps struggling.

I thought he was older than 25.  Shockingly, he still has time to be good and what he's doing in Syracuse right now, might not just be a fluke.

Goodwin is now 102 ABs in and his line is .333/.398/.510. If he keeps it up he is definitely up in September if not before.

Happy for him -- maybe he'll get the call.

BABIP of .443. Somehow, I don't think that is sustainable at the MLB level. Still think he's 4th or 5th OFer material

That'd be a big win for a guy that most thought would have already been booted from the 40-man

Really, that's not even sustainable in AAA.

"Brian Goodwin is an absolute monster. 2-out, go-ahead grand slam off LHP Zach Phillips in a 6-run 7th. Now .389 vs LHP. 7-4 @SyracuseChiefs."
