Are they going to make it back to Omaha this year?  I haven't followed college baseball since Nebraska started crapping out in March.
I'm not sure. The only Rice games I've seen this year were a humiliating, Nationals-esque loss that I left in disgust, and a beautiful triumph over Texas. They seem to be in "rebuilding" mode this year - the big offensive star and indeed the Conference USA Player of the Year, 3B Anthony Rendon, was a freshman (and shared a mailbox with me ... I was planning to leave him fake secret admirer letters as a prank but never got around to it) and pitching "ace" Ryan Berry went down with an injury. (I put ace in quotes because I am a Berry skeptic.) However, I see that Rice is 36-15, in the Conference USA tournament, and just beat Marshall 13-0 in tournament play behind a freshman pitcher's complete-game three-hitter.
