Yeah that seems low for Hamilton.

So - the Phillies will sign another starter now I guess?  How much money would htey have to play with - not that much, I'm guessing.

I also find it funny that the Phillies kind of made basically the same trade as the Nats a couple of days later, but gave up more and received less.

Revere is younger and is controlled for longer than Span, so it makes sense that he would cost more.

Except he's not nearly as good

Can't believe this is the Hamilton market. Don't the O's have room for him? Someone has to come out of left field and give him a bigger offer.

Hamilton $20-$25 million /year for 3 years, or 3 years for 20-25 million?

per year.

On another signing, the Uehara to Boston for 1 yr / $4.25 MM, that now gives them 4 bullpen lefties again - Koji, Breslow, Miller, and Morales.  I'd like to see the Nats explore a trade for Morales, who is versatile and throws hard.  Had some success starting (his last one or two had fatigue issues and he was shut down).  Breslow has a good track record, but is strictly a reliever.

I suppose we don't really have anywhere for Hamilton to play. Unless Bryce Harper wants to learn to be a first baseman...

Or move Hamilton to first seeing as how he's not very good in the outfield.

Technically, yes, but he does have 2 arms.  But is his right arm in Japan his left here?

Still, I would not mind seeing the Nats try to deal for Morales or Breslow.

Red Sox Acquire G. Godfrey

Wondered where he went after AFLAC canned him.

If you can't get LaRoche for two years, might as well be making offers for three years of Hamilton at First Base.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/12/cano-will-not-give-yankees-a-hometown-discount.html

So - does Cano get traded to the Dodgers midseason if the Yanks are out of it or do they just wait until the offseason and lose him to the Dodgers then?  Maybe a package deal with ARod and Cano goes to the Dodgers?  Can't really put it past them at this point.

Hopefully it is 2012 Young... And not a motivated and rejuvenated Young.

for linblom and someone else.  Lindblom actually is a good reliever so this is a real bad move for the phils.

If Espi has another year like this year, I exoect the nats to be in on him.  The Yanks will probably not be able to resign him at the price he'll command as they are trying to get below the $189mm luxury tax limit.  With Cano there's the Boras connection and he's an up the middle player.
