Watching Soriano in the Cubs/Rockies game today reminded me how much fun his at-bats and base running were. He might have been a total see-ya FA money ho, but damn, have we been a boring team ever since he left.

-Another 2 hit night for Bonifacio. 2/5 with 2 singles and 2 runs scored. He has had two or more hits in 6 of 7 games this season. BA down to .485.

-Felipe Lopez with a 3 hit game for the D-backs. He's hitting .375 and has only struck out 3 times in 32 ABs.

Endy Chavez hit a homerun for the Mariners tonight. Ichiro (not a former Nat but playing in this game) just hit a grand slam.

I love this this MLB Extra Innings. The fact that I'm getting it for free makes me love it even more.

After starting out 14 for 24 (.583) with 2 K) and 1 BB, Bonifacio has gone 3 for 15 (.200) with 7 K (every 2.14 AB) and no BB. He hasn't had an SB after getting 4 in the first series. His FPCT is .905. It would be even worse, .857, had the his error in the first game not been changed to a 2B for Zimmerman.

The Mets, and then the Braves, figured him out. The Nats get a chance to watch the video of him chasing high fastballs before this weekend's series. In fact, the only thing he can hit at all is belt-high and outside; he can't hit anything inside at all. This guy is a slap hitter who relies on the outside pitch to flare one to LF. If you pitch him side, he rolls over if he makes contact at all, and will not reach base. Once you get 2 strikes on him, throw a high fastball and rack up a K.

This makes it all the more hilarious that SI's Jon Heyman called him a breakout superstar and the next Jesus, basically.
