Is Joel really going to go for the 2 inning save? Werth-Utley-Howard due up this inning.  :-[

I'm afraid so... Wasn't it the very last time he was up in this position last week he blew it, and that was just an inning? I'm not feeling confident yet.

I don't like this.  Put Shell in, and have Joel for the 9th.  Manny doesn't ever put Joel in position to succeed as the closer

I am usually optimistic, but I see almost no chance of Hanrahan making it two innings without giving up a run (considering the players he is facing).

And so it starts. You can just *see* it in his face that he's nervous as hell... This isn't going to be pretty going by his expression.

Yep, he looks nervous as crap.

It's a shame he hasn't gotten more outings as a closer but that's still not an excuse.

Holy crap, Hagerstown just had a 12 run inning against Delmarva down at the Single A level.

EDIT:  Not to mention.  Espinosa is 2-2 with a walk and RBI so far for Vermont.  He is now 7-8 with two walks in his professional career  :)

Now is the time you say **** it, and put Shell in. You just see what's coming. And what will Manny do? Do I even need to answer that?

Wow. Pahuta who's had a decent season has 5 RBIs and Rooney has 4 hits.

I have one(actually several) last question.  Do you think that the Directors' that runs these telecasts have ever actually watched baseball on TV.  Why can't they ever show a guy scoring at home when it matters?
Why so they always use the 1st base dugout camera showing the runner scoring when the play is usually in the outfield or some other place when the overhead camera would be better.  Why can't they ever show 1st base on a pick-off attempt.  It seems they are always shocked that the pitcher throw over to first.
My theory is that these sports directors are guys that hate their job and are waiting to do music videos or commercial or movies.
This stuff constantly drives me crazy!!!

Hagerstown has been decimated by callups this season (probably a good thing).  Their pitching staff is weak at best and they have no threats in their lineup.  It all combines to make the 12 run inning THAT much more impressive.

Don't get too angry (I know I have)!  MASN is a second-rate sports channel.  I have seen minor league teams with better broadcasts.

very nice DP!!! Good job Joel. 3 down, 3 to go.

Very nice scoop by Belliard btw. He has been amazing the last few games at coming up with bad/low throws.

He only has 18 pitches, I don't see why he can't go in the bottom of the 9th.
