Defence? Who killed the kittens?

Ironically, there were no "official" errors in the inning ... but it started off with a walk, then a pop up to Logan who lost it in the sun/twighlight, whatever, 2 men on, 0 outs, then a pop up to left that Guz and Church let drop in between them, 3 men on, 0 outs, then a strikeout, then a hit, then a hit, then a hit to Zim he threw wide of the bag at 2nd, then a sac fly, then the pitcher got a hit, then a fly out ... horrendous ... 6-0 ...

After the SECOND IDIOTIC fielding play in the 1st inning (which was the 2nd batter?), Acta should have called time, called the entire team to shortstop and asked them whether he should just forfeit the game.  Speigner needed ALL the help he could get, and these worthless jackasses left him hanging.  MLB just investigate to see how many of them placed bets on the Padres tonight.  Any more of this and Acta should immediately replace the fielder before the next play.
(Image removed from quote.)

This is embarrassing. When Speigner is pitching he needs all the run support he can use, and a good defence is simply the necessary minimum.

6 straight outs ... Nice grab Zim ... c'mon guys ... get some runs on the board ... what a shame ... Speigner should have his third shutout inning by now ...

nice catch Zim.  After that scoreless inning Speigner's season ERA is now 9.43.  In 27.2 innings he has given up 43 hits, 19 walks and 29 earned runs.

Clearly, Levale should never pitch the first inning of a ball game.

It really stinks that all those runs were earned ... they really shouldn't have been ...

Hey! That's the answer ... Colome, then Speigner ... sounds good to me ...

That's a little like Yogi Berra don't you think: in truth, Speigner is not hitting for himself.

"scattered showers and thunderstorms",  Erica

Edit- Don't think it'll be bad (or good) enough to cause the game to be called before 5 full.
