_______________________________________ ______________

Lannan earned his third win in his last four starts when he beat Houston
Thursday night, throwing six innings and allowing seven hits and just one
run. He struck out three and walked only one. It was good enough to keep
Washington from getting swept in a three-games series in Houston. He relied
mostly on his changeup and slider against the Astros, throwing curveballs
only to the last batter he faced in the game.

Maine pitched longer than any Mets starter in nearly a year, lasting into the
ninth inning in a 12-1 victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday. Sporting a
fastball that reached 97 mph and a sharp changeup, Maine allowed four hits
and one run. If not for a bloop double and a walk conspiring to end his day in
the ninth, he might have recorded the second shutout of his career. Maine
has beaten the Nationals once already this season, allowing two runs over
6 2/3 innings.

I wouldn't mind if this happened.

Maine has 23 K's in 23 innings against us.

YESSSSS! DUKES IS STARTING! i think his bat is gonna break out tonight. if he doesn't get a hit tonight, i'll start to be concerned.

i don't know about you guys, but i think a bcb could be brewing tonight...i don't think any mutts pitcher has the courage to try and hit dukes. that would be a major mistake on their part.

LETS GO LANNAN!!! his last outing vs the mutts was memorable: 11 K 0 BB 1 ER. that type of ownage isn't a fluke, i expect a duplication of that domination.

Why is Lopez starting over Belliard? Belliard is 9/13 against Maine, Lopez is 2/13. This shouldn't be a tough choice...

Because I don't think the bat has come off of Belliard's shoulder since....Spring Training.

Felipe knew he did it on purpose. Lannan better hit Wright or Reyes later in the game.
