Saarloos should
So Lose. He did NOT make their Opening Day rotation, and has only pitched as many as 2 innings ONCE this year. While his career W-L record (all with Houston and Oakland until 2007) is about .500, he's only won 39% of the games he's started. His career walks & hits per inning (WHIP) rate is over 1.500, so a good team would see enough walks and hits to win. Only 7 of his 16 starts for Oakland in 2006 were quality starts (6 innings minimum, 3 runs or less).
But the Nationals are DEAD LAST in MLB in both team batting average and on-base percentage. The Reds have the 3rd highest home runs hit with 55, while we are 2nd worst with 22. The Reds have made about the same number of errors. We have a pitcher and park where we can improve our statistics and win the game. Chico is The Man.
